Join us on Saturday, August 1 for the annual meeting at the North Anna Nuclear Information Center, 1022 Haley Drive, Mineral. – Note the change in date for this year.
The day will start at 9 a.m. with an opportunity to meet and interact with the various LACA committees including Water Quality, Environmental Preservation, Safety and Emergency Services and Land Use. A light continental breakfast will also be available.
The meeting will officially begin at 9:30 a.m. and will include reports from the committees, results of the elections and a treasurer’s report. The prestigious Jack Bertron Distinguished Service Award will also be presented.
The guest speaker for the morning will be Stacey Brown, Boating Division Director for the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. She will discuss the pending legislation regarding the use of safety kill switches on boats and personal watercraft and mandatory personal floatation device usage for children 13 and under among other topics.
Brown previously served as the Boating Safety Manager for fourteen years and was recently promoted to the position of Boating Division Director in 2023. Her primary functions are to assist in the administration of all the agency’s boating functions including boating outreach and education, waterways management, and boat titling and registration. Stacey holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia and a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dominion Energy representative Sarah Marshall, manager of state and local affairs – infrastructure strategy, will also have a brief presentation and update on happenings with Dominion Energy.
Marshall began her career with Dominion Energy at North Anna Power Station, supporting its nuclear operations organization. For much of her time with Dominion, she has served in the government affairs organization where her experience included supporting the company in state and local policy and existing and new generation permitting across the Commonwealth. In her current role, Sarah manages Dominion Energy’s strategic outreach for capital projects across its footprint, specializing in new generation builds supporting a just energy transition.
Sarah earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from James Madison University and her Master of Public Administration (MPA) from Clemson University. She currently resides on a farm in Louisa County, the same county where she grew up, with her husband and their three working dogs. She spends her free time travelling and spending time outdoors with her dog “Nubb.”
