The Lake Anna Civic Association holds its annual membership meeting on the last Saturday of July at the North Anna Nuclear Information Center located at the North Anna Nuclear Power Station. The meeting is open to all members in good standing and begins at 9 a.m. with a continental breakfast and time to interface with the various committees. The official meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and features a review of the past year’s activities, election of officers, reports from the committees and a guest speaker on a topic of interest or impacting the lake and it environs.
This year's meeting is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2020. Dr. David Schmale, a member of the School of Plant and Environmental Science at Virginia Tech, is slated to be the guest speaker. He is partnering with our Water Quality and Environmental Preservation committees to find solutions to the Harmful Algae Blooms on the lake. The meeting will also feature reports by other committees and a recap of LACA's activities during the year. One of the other highlights is the presentation of the Jack Bertron Distinguished Service Award recognizing outstanding efforts on behalf of the Lake Anna community. The late Jack Bertron was the founder of LACA and the award recognizes his work to preserve Lake Anna during his time here.
Members can pay their dues and vote at the meeting if they have not done so prior to the meeting.
The meeting typically ends by 11:30 a.m. following a question and answer time from the attendees.
North Anna Nuclear Information Center address: 1022 Haley Drive, Mineral, VA (off of Kentucky Springs Road at the flashing light).
